[Good morning everyone, please enjoy the overly-excited grin of a certain fifteen-year-old princess. She's wearing a large fuzzy Santa hat, having clearly slept in it by how messy her hair is. She happily cradles an egg in her lap.]

Guys! It's Christmas morning! Did Santa bring anyone any awesome stuff?

[Because someone out there needed to be reminded what day it is.]

Thanks for whoever sent me this egg! It didn't have a tag on it, so I'm not really sure who sent it. I'll be sure to return the favor, okay?

Wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Maybe it's a pick-me-up from Arceus after that whole mess at the falls.

Which is good, since he helps them hatch faster, but it does make it hard to show it off.

That's so cool! Maybe pokemon-Santa brings everyone eggs for Christmas!

[She's just so enamored with the idea of magic presents that she hardly notices the other hundred ways an unknown egg can show up in their home.]

[She'll just let her enjoy herself. If the myth of Father Christmas makes her so happy, so be it.]

I'm just glad none of us were visited by Pokemon Krampus.

I wouldn't be so sure yet, I haven't seen Sora yet.

[She giggles. He's probably still asleep, but it's always fun to prod.]

Plus, you would totally try to catch Pokemon Krampus.

[She grins wide, completely unabashed.]

You know, now that I think about it Sora did seem rather unnerved by the myth of Krampus. Perhaps it's because he had something to worry about.

I always knew that dork was hiding something, and now we know.

Poor boy. Wonder what he did to get on the Christmas spirit's bad side.

[His Snubull comes up and taps him on the thigh. The other two dogs sit behind her at attention.

Huh. [Blake eyes the thing.] You sure?

[They nod.]

[Yeah, she got the gist of that, too.]

See? You're gonna get sick if you worry like that all the time.

Guess that's what happens when you don't believe in Krampus. He's not gonna take that lying down.

[Egg Santa is real!]

Well, they're eggs, right? Keep them warm and they'll hatch in a few weeks.

[She's been doing her best to read up on being a breeder, but she hasn't gotten too far past the basics, yet.]

You call it stubbornness. I call it a healthy amount of skepticism.

[There's a one-shouldered shrug while he moves the egg to his other arm.]

Point is, we got an egg. Maybe it'll be like what happened last time, and we wind up with some shiny Pokémon.

[Blake barks at the dogs.] Well, keep an eye on it!

[He turns back to the screen.] I'm a cop. It's my job to worry.

Right! Prolly best to keep them with the others... that should keep the blighter warm.

[ There's a pause though. ]

Haven't a single tag or note on mine either... nothing written on the shell for all it's worth. Can't say I'd know who mine's from though. Think someone's just being generous?

[ and Sora totally found a way to get Kairi chocolate sea shells. an entire bag full. ]

He kinda brought the awesome stuff before Christmas.

[Has she ever told you how much she loves you? She'll be snacking on them for weeks.]

He just knew we couldn't wait that long.

Shiny? Like... sparkle-sparkle?

[And she's a teenage girl. It's her job to roll her eyes at authority.]

I will, but it's not like it's going anywhere.

[Then again, if the egg does sprout legs and takes off, she wants to be there to see it.]

[And right on cue, a black Charizard pokes her head into the room, letting out a low groan. Did somebody call her name? Are there snacks?

Riku chuckles and shrugs.]

Shiny Pokémon have this habit of sparkling. And they're usually different colors.

[Cinder ducks her head as he says this, still a bit shy about her scales.]

And to think it all started with a silly bet about whether or not Father Christmas exists or not! He must be regretting that about now.

It's prolly the right season for it, eh? Wager he makes his rounds here at least, if we're talking about the same fellow with the sack and the red suit, eh?

[ But have a shake of his head from the question. ]

Just a trainer here, or so I've been told. The others I'd mentioned're just Grim and his lot. The rest of my team. They prolly know a thing or three about how to keep an egg warm.

Didn't anybody ever tell you not to take candy from strangers? That goes for eggs, too.

[He jabs his finger at the screen.]

I always thought Charizards just came in black too.

The design on one reminds me of Wayfinder.

Nah. Well, technically they do, but it's rare. All shiny Pokémon are pretty hard to come by.

[Cinder taps her claws together, then sheepishly lumbers out the door. Oh, this is so embarrassing!]

Don't get stupid, kid. This is a whole world full of wild fire-breathing animals to begin with, and there's been mad bombs running around before.

[Still one on the loose, even.]

You see a suspicious unattended package, stay the hell away.

You know, that reminds me of someone I know. Maybe there's one in every family.

Anyway, do you have any idea what sort of Pokemon is in there?
